Folklore Solo Show NY

I was invited by Ag Gallery to show my work in a solo exhibit in Brooklyn, last April. This is a very special store with a vintage shop and a gallery space all managed by a great team. I’ve been working with them since last 2013, when they invited my to participate in a group show called “ Early Bloom “ and I showed some pieces from my project “ Psycho Orchids”. After that we kept working together, selling some of my products in their store permanently.

I named this show “ Folklore “ as a part of a very personal tribute to my heritage. I wanted to take this opportunity and create some pieces with a style I´ve been developing over the last years. I worked with watercolours and there is a lot of layers of color ink in every piece. I wanted to show how proud I am to be who I am and where I come from. I love colour, nature and surrealism, and I always will. I really enjoy creating this imaginative worlds full of blooms and magic.
I painted endless nights for three months, I just stopped doing pretty much every else I was doing, I needed to paint for me. After my son was born and I opened the store it has been very difficult to find time to paint for me. If I had some time to paint it was for a commission project and I found myself a little bit lost with my art, wanting to keep developing this new style more refined but still very intense and just enjoying the whole process. And this was the opportunity to do that.
